Adult Crafting Club
Starting January 2011 a new and exciting crafting club for adults. Come and join our arts and crafts instructor Eve for our regular Saturday morning crafting sessions and try your hand at jewellery making, felting, sewing, beading, collage and much, much more! Make beautiful gifts and fun things for the home. Absolutely no experience necessary just a willingness to meet likeminded adults, make friends and have lots of fun.
Sessions will run from 10.00 – 12.00 once a month.

Graffiti workshop with Send Project
Budding Banksy’s gathered at the National Centre for Craft & Design last week for a master class in graffiti design.
The workshop, which was part of the programme of summer activities, was delivered by the SEND Urban Art team from Nottingham and was a huge hit with local teenagers. The summer programme of activities for all ages continues right up until the end of August, details can be found on the Learning web pages.
Workshop Masterclass with Jason Lim
Singapore artist Jason Lim recently completed a one month residency with the Hub and the University of Lincoln supported by the East Midlands Visual Arts Network (EMVAN) and funded by the Cultural Olympiad and National Lottery.
World renowned ceramicist and visual artist, Jason gave a series of open studio sessions at the university workshop at the the Think Tank in Lincoln and a series of public and schools workshops at the Hub.You can see for yourself Jasons beautiful work when he exhibits at the Hub in June 2011 as part of the Sowing Seeds project.
The National centre for Craft & Design Sponsors Fashion Award
For the first time this year Hub Learning has sponsored and awarded a Fashion Design Innovation award to one lucky graduate of the Fashion Studies course at the University of Lincoln. In addition to a cash prize and certificate, the winner received a beautiful glass trophy specifically designed and created for the National Centre by artist Stevie Davies.
This years winner of the Fashion Design Award was John Mukusha. John's catwalk collection, Monochrome Chic, went on exhibition at the Hub during July to much acclaim, and resulted in a number of private commissions. The hunt for the winner of the award for 2011 gets back underway in October this year.
The National Centre for Craft & Design, The Teenage Cancer Trust and Clic Sargent
The Learning team have just spent five very enjoyable months working with young peoples cancer charities Clic Sargent and The Teenage Cancer Trust, providing creative workshops for teenagers being treated for or recovering from cancer.
The sessions have all been designed to take the teenagers minds off the rigors of treatment and provide them with an opportunity to get away from the hospital environment and have some much deserved fun.
To date those attending have had a chance to produce a radio broadcast for Lincolns community radio station, Siren FM and create and film their very own animation. The National Centre for Craft & Design Receives Arts Award Status
The Hub’s Learning team are proud to announce their new status as an Arts Award Welcome Centre and as a training provider for young people wishing to participate in the Arts Awards scheme. The Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and art leaders. Anyone aged between 11 – 25 can participate in the scheme, progressing their way from Bronze level through to Gold.
